Four years after releasing “FDT (Fuck Donald Trump)” with Nipsey Hussle, YG has dropped a new protest song titled “FTP.” The West Coast rapper’s latest anthem arrives amid widespread demonstrations following the police killing of George Floyd.
YG’s single is produced by Swish and Larry Jayy. On the track, the Def Jam artist declares he’s “tired of being tired of being tired” after watching another black citizen die at the hands of cops.

“It’s the Ku Klux cops, they on a mission/It’s the Ku Klux cops, got hidden agendas/It’s the truth, I won’t stop/Open cases, police already hate me, why not/Make your rich-ass city look like trash/To whoever make the rules, we need answers fast/Oh they mad, fuck it, let’s make ’em mad/Without that badge you’s a bitch and a half,” he raps on the first verse.
In addition to the track, YG sought to take action by organizing a protest in Hollywood. He originally planned to stage one on Tuesday (June 2) but had to cancel it over safety concerns.
“So I got bad news — I was told today that my protest is not safe and that people could get hurt or shot,” YG said in a social media clip. “I’m not trying to get none of my people hurt or shot so I’ma cancel the date. It’s fucked up, but I’m gonna come back bigger and better.”
He added, “I’m partnering with Black Lives Matter and we gonna do this shit the right way. For the people, for the city and for all the artists that wanna pop out and participate. With that being said, ‘Fuck The Police’ is out right now.”
A few hours after making the post, YG urged people who ignored or didn’t hear about the cancellation to return to their homes.
“I just heard that the they are sending the National Guards to Hollywood,” he wrote via Twitter. “GO HOME NOW… ..do not give them an excuse to create a news story that hurts the movement. We are partnering with BLM and will do this safely and correctly ASAP! REPOST!”

He also announced he would be contributing to the Los Angeles Action Bail Fund.
“It’s wrong when those standing up for justice get locked up,” YG noted. “I’m supporting the LA Action Bail Fund led by @blmlosangeles. 100% of donations will go straight to support bail and fees for protestors!”
