#DXCLUSIVE: Universal Music Group CEO Says Drake Has An Unlimited Budget

Posted by

Los Angeles, CA – Drake’s record-breaking success has made it easy to get what he wants, plus more.

On Rick Ross’ 2012 track “Stay Schemin,” Drake bragged about his freedom to do whatever he wants with the allowance Universal grants him on the line, “Tell Lucian I said fuck it, I’m tearin’ holes in my budget.” As it turns out, the label’s pocketbooks are always open for Drizzy.

HipHopDX ran into the man the 6 God references on “Stay Schemin,” UMG CEO Sir Lucian Grainge, at the label’s Grammy afterparty on January 26 and asked him what happens when Drake gives him the call for more money.

“If ever Drake or whenever Drake calls up and says he needs something for his project, I give it to him,” Grainge said with a smile. “Because he’s the greatest.”

Currently, Drake is prepping another collaboration with Future as fans await their highly-anticipated project What A Time To Be Alive 2.

The OVO star and Future released a new song titled “Desires” via SoundCloud last week as the follow-up to their single “Life Is Good,” which was recently certified gold by the RIAA.

Stream “Desires” below.
