#DXclusives: Ty Farris & Smokepurpp

Why Smokepurpp Removed His Kanye West Song “No Problem” Off His Album

Smokepurpp recently stopped by HipHopDX’s office to discuss his album Deadstar 2. During the conversation, he explained why he chose to remove a Kanye West verse since it was recorded before Yeezy’s spiritual awakening.

“He didn’t personally tell me [to remove it], I just kind of knew,” Smokepurpp explained to DX. “He kind of just changed his ways or whatever. Mike Dean mixed the whole album, he executive produced the whole album. So he pretty much just told me he’s not really cursing and shit. He’s not really performing his old songs anymore, he does ‘Jesus Walks.’ If he does do his old songs, he changes the lyrics.”

Ty Farris Talks ‘No Cosign Just Cocaine’ & Upcoming Projects

Ty Farris just released another of his No Cosign Just Cocaine series and took the time to speak with DX about its creation.

“The project is kinda like a gumbo of songs I had in the stash,” he noted. “I was working on multiple EPs with producers like Bozack Morris and Sebb Bash. So I grabbed some of those joints with a few others I had.”
