Los Angeles, CA – On The Game‘s 2009 track “Better Dayz” he admits that he hadn’t spoken to Eminem or Dr. Dre in five years.

When the Compton-bred artist came through the HipHopDX office in Hollywood, he opened up about the last conversation he had with Eminem the five years prior, which happened to be about Em’s “We Ain’t” verse for Game’s 2005 debut The Documentary.

“Eminem was more concerned about it being my record and he wanted it to be structured the way I wanted it,” The Game recalled. “Eminem asked me what I thought about his verse, which I thought was crazy…But it’s Em and it’s like why are you asking me how I feel about the verse?”

Naturally, the Born 2 Rap star praised Em for his addition to the track and he quickly remembered when Nas asked him his thoughts about his verse for “Why You Hate The Game” off 2006’s Doctor’s Advocate in a similar fashion.

“The second time it happened to me was Nas,” he said. “I was in New York working on Doctor’s Advocate and Nas sat in the studio rocking back and forth and was drinking I think either whiskey or tequila and with a big ass ice cube and for like eight hours. I fell asleep and woke up, Nas was still up rocking back and forth writing his verse. I guess he’s just meticulous about how he wants it and you want it. After he was done, he was like, ‘What you think about that? That sound alright to you?’”

The Game’s Born 2 Rap album is out now via Entertainment One.
