The House Of Representatives officially impeached Donald Trump, the 45th President of the United States, on Wednesday (December 18).

It marks only the third time in U.S. history a president has been impeached, joining Andrew Johnson and Bill Clinton. Subsequently, “#Impeachmas” has become a trending topic on Twitter.

According to CNN, The House passed both articles of impeachment — abuse of power and obstruction of Congress — after over eight hours of debates. The fight now goes to the Senate, where a two-thirds majority is needed to remove Trump from office, or 67 lawmakers in a chamber currently divided among 53 Republicans, 45 Democrats and two independents who caucus with the Democrats.

The current POTUS learned of the vote tallies as he was speaking on stage at his nearly two-hour campaign rally in Michigan on Wednesday evening. Naturally, he seized the moment to brag about Republican unity.

Following the vote, Trump shared a meme on Twitter featuring a photo of himself and the words, “In reality, they’re not after me they’re after you. I’m just in the way.”

But despite Trump’s usual bravado, several Hip Hop artists and celebrities alike shared their excitement on social media, including Pete Rock, Sage Francis, Blockhead, Noname, Michael Rapaport, Lizzo, Meek Mill and Kehlani.

Check out some of the reactions below.
