Fabolous Thinks The Internet Overreacted Over His Shiggy Encounter

New York, NY – Fabolous was in the crossfires of social media after he pressed Shiggy for asking to be paid to do a social media challenge for his single “Choosy.” Fab claimed to be just clowning with Shiggy and accused the internet of blowing it out of proportion during an appearance on Hot 97’s Ebro In The Morning.

The Brooklyn-bred rapper addressed the controversy while promoting his latest project Summertime Shootout 3.

“I saw the internet just had a whole lot of fun with this … was it a dull day or something?” he asked.

Fab then elaborated on the situation, downplaying the interaction.

“It was all a joke,” he said. “It was all a play to play with Shiggy. Shiggy is a joking person, so you joke back with him. So my joke to him was, this first time I seen him, he was at my show, and just like, ‘Wow, look at Shiggy.’ So I hit Shiggy just because we was starting the challenge of it and just because I know him personally. We have a cool relationship.”

He continued, “So I was just like, ‘Yo man, it’d be cool if you do something for the new joint, for ‘Choosy.’ And he’s like, ‘Yeah, yeah, see if you get me a check or something.”

Shiggy seemingly reacted to the incident on Instagram Stories, declaring, “I didn’t change, I just learned my lesson.”

Fab went on to say he wasn’t offended by the IG influencer’s request.

“I’m not mad at you getting your money,” he stated. “I’m not paying you, but if Def Jam want to cut the [check], why wouldn’t I?”

But Fab pointed out he was one of those people that supported Shiggy before he was well-known and referenced the entertainer’s viral “In My Feelings” dance.

“There is things you do for free,” he said. “He did the Drake thing for free.”

Fab concluded by reiterating he didn’t have any issue with Shiggy though.

“The internet made it a big, funny story,” he claimed. “I don’t have a problem with anybody getting paid.”
