New York, NY – Forever 21 fired off a cryptic tweet on Tuesday (June 11) indicating the company had teamed up with the recently revamped Baby Phat brand. The post featured video of an old school pink pager with a note that read, “TXT ME BAK, XOXO K.L.S.”
K.L.S., of course, are the initials of Kimora Lee Simmons who took the brand to international notoriety in the late ’90s/early 2000s.

Baby Phat’s rebirth was revealed in March when Simmons announced she’d repurchased her iconic streetwear brand and would oversee the company again with her two teenage daughters — Ming Lee and Aoki Lee.
In a subsequent interview with HipHopDX, the former model and fashion powerhouse admitted it was a long time coming.
“Bringing back Baby Phat in a meaningful way has been a dream of mine for years,” Simmons told DX. “Sometimes the timing of things just aligns perfectly.
“My girls, Ming Lee and Aoki Lee, are 19 and 16 years old now and want to be a part of what truly is our family business. The stars really aligned on this one.”
Following Forever 21’s tweet, Twitter exploded and consequently, Baby Phat started trending.

BabyPhat helped to further many POC’s modeling careers. Kimora had an inclusive runway + marketing strategy before it became a cool marketing KPI/mike marker
