Apple Shuttering iTunes

Cupertino, CA – When Apple unveils its new operating system this fall, one beloved feature will be noticeably absent — iTunes. But fear not, the technology giant is splitting it into three separate media streaming apps: Apple Music, Apple Podcasts and Apple TV, according to MSN.

Many iTunes users were concerned they’d lose their entire music libraries but a press release states otherwise.

“Users will have access to their entire music library, whether they downloaded the songs, purchased them or ripped them from a CD,” Apple said.

Apple insists the new Music app for Mac is “lightning fast, fun and easy to use.” It will have over 50 million songs, playlists and music videos.

The new MacOS, Catalina, will be available this fall as a free software update.

In other Apple-related news, the company recently announced they are bringing the iPod Touch back. The new 7th-generation version starts at $199 for the 32 GB option and maxes out at $399 for the 256 GB selection.
