CJ Wallis, a filmmaker best known by Hip Hop fans as the creative director for Curren$y’s Jet Life imprint, is making a documentary about Mac Miller. Wallis announced his plans to profile the late rapper via social media on Monday (June 3).

“So, over the next year I’m going to start collecting interviews & content to make the definitive @MacMiller documentary for his family, friends & fans,” he wrote on Twitter. “Please share & tag anyone you think we need to speak with! #birdseyeview #ripmac.”

Wallis’ previous documentary work includes Jetflix, a series about Curren$y’s life on tour and in the studio that premiered on Pitchfork.tv. He also created Perfect Bid: The Contestant Who Knew Too Much, a feature-length film about Price Is Right superfan Ted Slauson. Perfect Bid is currently available to stream on Netflix.

Miller passed away last September at the age of 26. The cause of death was an accidental overdose of fentanyl, cocaine and alcohol.
