Tekashi 6ix9ine Transferred To New Federal Facility Due To "Security Reasons"

New York, NY – Reports of Tekashi 6ix9ine’s release from prison this Thanksgiving Thursday (November 22) have been proven to be both accurate and misleading.

TMZ has learned that the human Hip Hop hot button has indeed been removed from the notoriously violent Brooklyn Metropolitan Detention Center where he faces a “gang” of charges — but it was only a transfer to a federal facility renown for inmates who cut deals to cut prison time as a result.

Lance Lazzaro, 6ix9ine’s attorney, tells TMZ that the transfer was due to “security reasons,” for his controversial client was being threatened by gang members inside the MDC, as he spent Wednesday night in general population.

The 22-year-old 6ix9ine (born Daniel Hernandez) reportedly also asked to specifically be moved to a unit away from both Crips and the Bloods (the latter being the gang he’s identified with through a handful of interviews and songs).

On a related note, Lazzaro not only told The Blast his client was innocent because of course, he maintains that 6ix9ine’s tough guy image is only for show … business.

“Daniel Hernandez is completely innocent of all charges being brought against him,” he said before clarifying that the rainbow color-haired rapper is “an entertainer who portrays a “gangster image.”

Lazzaro also declined to comment on whether or not 6ix9ine was in the process of cutting a deal (a.k.a. “snitch”) on the other defendants in the racketeering case that holds a potential life imprisonment sentence.
