Atlanta, GA – Angela Simmons, the daughter of Run-DMC’s Rev Run, woke up to some horrific news on Sunday morning (November 4). According to TMZ, Sutton Tennyson — Simmons’ ex-fiancé and father of her 2-year-old son — was shot and killed inside his Atlanta home.
Police initially believed it was a home invasion but upon further investigation, it appears the incident occurred following some kind of argument.

Atlanta police reportedly responded to a “shots fired” call at Tennyson’s home and found him dead in his garage with multiple gunshot wounds. Officers said the 37-year-old was talking to another man in his driveway when the conversation escalated. The suspect then fled the scene in a car.

Simmons took to Instagram to mourn the father of her 2-year-old son Sutton Jr.
“Thank you for leaving behind my greatest gift,” Simmons wrote in the caption. “I’m hurting . I’m numb. Thank you for the out pouring of love everyone . I cant believe I’m even saying Rest In Peace Sutton . I promise to hold SJ down in every way I promise.”
Simmons and Tennyson called off their engagement last year.
