Miami, FL – Lil Wayne was recently freed from his contract with Cash Money but according to an Instagram post from producer D-Roc, Weezy was just at The Hit Factory in Miami with friend-turned-foe (turned friend?) Bryan “Birdman” Williams.
D-Roc captioned the photo with, “’Father like son’ We speak things into existence #Cashmoney #Youngmoney #SuperEarz #lilwayne #birdman #blatt.”
Based on the caption and who is believed to be the Cash Money CEO sitting in front of the mixing board, many fans concluded the two could be working on Like Father, Like Son 2, which would serve as the sequel to 2006’s original Like Father, Like Son.
The new agreement between Wayne, Universal Records and Cash Money reportedly states Weezy is no longer part of Cash Money and will receive “well over $10 million” as part of the deal.
So, if D-Roc isn’t trolling, it’s possible all the past drama between Weezy and Birdman is water under the proverbial bridge.
Fans have been waiting on Wayne’s Tha Carter V for years and with the recent development, the near-mythical album is closer to seeing the light of day. Howard King, Wayne’s attorney, said it will be released through Universal.
