Joe Budden Apologizes For Dissing Logic's Retirement & Praises Twitch Deal

Joe Budden issued a mea culpa for verbally bashing Logic on his eponymous podcast. The former Slaughterhouse MC apologized for his harsh words and saluted the recently retired rapper of his show.

“Logic, I’m sorry, man,” he said amid some banter with his co-hosts Jamil “Mal” Clay and Rory Farrell.

Budden then explained why he was in the wrong for disparaging Logic’s retirement announcement, included him saying the Def Jam artist “should’ve retired a long time ago.”

“Last week I came in here feeling pretty tumultuous,” he said. “Fresh out of Twitter jail, unable to properly read the room and just hating myself and life, honestly. And unfortunately, I projected some of that onto you, Log. And for that, I want to apologize. That was wrong of me.”

He continued, “I should be able to think that you aren’t the best rapper in the world but celebrate your retirement. Because that is a time when somebody should be happy and look back on their career and get shit off and be with their fans. Nobody wants to hear from this fucking old grumpy fuck saying fuck you and shut up, especially after that guy was allowed to retire peacefully. I felt bad.”

Logic’s Twitch Future Includes Blessing Rappers With Free Beats

As part of his apology, Budden also gave props to Logic for securing a seven-figure deal with Twitch.

“The Logic to Twitch deal is huge,” he acknowledged. “Multi-million dollar deal; Logic signs to Twitch exclusively. I don’t know what that entails … Congratulations to Logic. This is a really big deal. I’m happy for him. I’m proud of him. It makes all the sense in the world. It was quick, announcing the retirement and having this in the tuck.”

The outspoken rapper-turned-podcaster closed out his thoughts on Logic by reiterating his praise of the Twitch partnership and commended any rappers making the decision to focus on their families.

“Logic, congratulations,” he said. “I hope you enjoy retirement … [I] look forward to seeing anything you have going on with Twitch. Really, really huge deal. I expect more artists to follow suit. And I support rappers saying, ‘Yo, I wanna spend more time with my family.’”
