Tekashi 6ix9ine was beaming after his Nicki Minaj-assisted video for “TROLLZ” allegedly broke his own YouTube record for the most views in a 24-hour period, a record previously held by Eminem’s 2018 Machine Gun Kelly diss track “Killshot.”

But according to YouTube, his second post-prison single reeled in 32.5 million views in a day, trailing behind “GOOBA” by 6.4 million views.

YouTube’s 24-hour record debut policy states, “Videos eligible for YouTube’s 24-hour record debuts are those with the highest views from organic sources within the first 24 hours of the video’s public release. This includes direct links to the video, search results, external sites that embed the video and YouTube features like the homepage, watch next and Trending.

“Video advertising is an effective way to reach specific audiences with a song debut, but paid advertising views on YouTube will no longer be considered when looking at a 24-hour record debut.”

Shortly after the video’s Friday (June 12) premiere, 6ix9ine gloated in a since-deleted Instagram post, writing, “@nickiminaj DIDNT THEY CANCEL US. IT HASNT EVEN BEEN 24 HOURS YET,” he wrote with a graphic boasting 46 million YouTube views.

The collaboration between the two polarizing rapper stirred up plenty of controversy. Fans were shocked Nicki would again team up with 6ix9ine, a convicted sex offender and noted government witness, while others were quick to point out Nicki is married to convicted sex offender Kenneth Petty and the sister of convicted sex offender Jelani Maraj. Still, there was a gaggle of people also celebrating their reunion.

Tekashi 6ix9ine Blasts Future, Snoop Dogg & Meek Mill For ‘Snitch’ Hypocrisy

In a Instagram Live session, Nicki and 6ix9ine discussed the term “rat” as the rainbow-haired rapper attempted to drag Snoop Dogg, Nicki’s ex Meek Mill and Future for their perceived “snitch” hypocrisy. Black Barbie was quick to defend 6ix9ine.

“I feel street niggas have every right to feel how they want to feel about snitching because they live that life,” she said. “I feel rappers need to play it easy because everybody mingles and integrates with everybody, and if a top executive rat calls one of y’all unsigned rappers right now, y’all signing … Let’s be clear when we talk about rappers versus street niggas.

“You know, I’m not on the block with 6ix9ine. Me and 6ix9ine is not on the block. We’re in the music business. You rappers is in rooms all the time with people with sketchy pasts, and I’m not judging anybody ‘ cause I’m not doing that. I have nothing but respect for so many of these people, and I would never fix my face to talk crazy about them.”
