Kodak believes O’Loughlin ordered the Miami-Dade Police to snap a photo of him in handcuffs after he was detailed at Rolling Loud Miami in 2019. Kodak was clad in a blue tracksuit with his hands behind his back and the photo was leaked to a reporter. The Florida rapper, who has voiced his displeasure with his treatment behind bars, said the photo wasn’t a mugshot, wasn’t part of the investigation, and was done to “embarrass and humiliate him publicly” according to court documents.

The photo was shared by WSVN reporter Brian Entin who wrote, “Just obtained photo of Bill Kapri, AKA Rapper Kodak Black after he was arrested tonight. Official statement from Marshals: after an extensive investigation conducted by the US Marshals, ATF, and Miami Dade PD North Side Gang Unit, Kapri, was arrested as he arrived…”

The government hasn’t responded to Kodak’s lawsuit as he remains behind bars on a separate weapons charge in relation to an attempt to purchase a firearm as a convicted felon.

Kodak Black Rep Claims He Was Brutally Beaten By 7 Prison Guards

Kodak’s time behind bars has been eventful. The rapper was moved to a New York prison due to the coronavirus pandemic and then was moved again to Kentucky. A post to his Instagram account detailed an incident at the federal penitentiary in Inez, Kentucky where Kodak alleges he was beaten as retaliation for a fight he got into with guards at a Florida prison.

His lawyer, Bradford Cohen, requested that a full investigation be conducted of the alleged assault.
