The upcoming ninth installment of the Fast & Furious franchise has just been dealt a crippling blow as a result of the coronavirus pandemic that has already shuttered sports leagues and tournaments, universities and music festivals.
Variety reports Universal Studios has now moved Fast 9 from its original date of May 22, 2020, to April 2, 2021 in the United States.

“We feel all the love and the anticipation you have for the next chapter in our saga,” Diesel said in a statement. “That’s why it’s especially tough to let you know that we have to move the release date of the film.
