New Orleans, LA – Donny Maxwell, one of the three people arrested in connection to the 2018 death of Young Greatness, has pleaded guilty to manslaughter. According to The Times-Picayune/New Orleans Advocate, the 19-year-old also pleaded guilty to armed robbery, obstruction of justice and two conspiracy charges on December 16.

Another teen, 17-year-old Lovance Wix, previously admitted to his role in the robbery and shooting of Greatness. About two months ago, Wix pleaded guilty to the same charges except for manslaughter. Although he conceded to firing a gun at the scene, he said he didn’t kill the late rapper.

Donald Reaux, the last remaining defendant in the case, is awaiting trial. The 39-year-old man pleaded not guilty to second-degree murder, being a convicted felon in possession of a firearm and the same charges against Maxwell and Wix. If convicted of murder, Reaux will face a mandatory life sentence.

Maxwell is currently awaiting sentencing after Wix was sentenced to 20 years behind bars. Although manslaughter and armed robbery convictions could get him up to 40 and 99 years in prison respectively, the teen likely won’t face the harshest penalty since he pleaded guilty prior to a trial.

Greatness, whose real name was Theodore Jones, was shot and killed in New Orleans in October 2018. The former Quality Control Music artist was back in his hometown for a funeral yet became the victim in a deadly robbery at a Waffle House parking lot.

The slain rapper was best known for his hit single “Moolah,” which peaked at No. 85 on the Billboard Hot 100 in 2016. He was 34 years old at the time of his death.
