Tekashi 6ix9ine Reportedly Rejecting Witness Protection To Resume Rap Career

New York, NY – Despite being the government’s star witness in last week’s trial against Anthony “Harv” Ellison and Aljermiah “Nuke” Mack, Tekashi 6ix9ine will reportedly reject the witness protection program.

According to TMZ, sources close to the embattled rapper say he wants to simply pick up where he left off and continue with his once flourishing rap career.

Several comments on his last Instagram post point to what awaits him on the outside. The video clip, posted on November 18, 2018, is littered with rat emojis and the word “snitch,” a clear indication of his soiled reputation in the rap world.

As part of his testimony, the Brooklyn native identified Jim Jones and Cardi B as Bloods while detailing the inner workings of Nine Trey. Due to his cooperation, it’s possible the 23-year-old will be released from prison as early as the top of next year.

His safety plan is reportedly to have 24-7 security, although it’s going to be expensive. He will likely have to get protection for his family as well.

Ellison and Mack’s trial is expected to wrap up on Thursday (September 26).

Prior to 6ix9ine’s November 2018 arrest, the “GUMMO” breakout star was racking up the career milestones. His debut mixtape, DAY69, was certified gold by the RIAA in May 2018.

It marked the third certification for 6ix9ine, who had already earned a gold plaque for “KOODA” and a platinum plaque for the aforementioned “GUMMO.” DAY69 produced six singles that landed on Billboard’s Hot 100, three of which landed in the Hip Hop Songs chart Top 10.

While behind bars, he dropped Dummy Boy,  which debuted at No. 2 on the Billboard 200 chart. However, there were some issues with the numbers and it was momentarily believed Dummy Boy actually hit the chart at No. 1 over Travis Scott’s Astroworld. In the end, Scott emerged victorious.
