Instagram – Just like Eminem predicted, Machine Gun Kelly got a huge boost in notoriety when he took on Slim Shady last year. On the one-year anniversary of his Em diss, “Rap Devil,” MGK took to Instagram to commemorate the day it dropped.

“it’s the ‘Rap Devil’ one year anniversary,” he wrote in the caption. “tell it happy birthday.”

Alongside the caption, he shared a yearbook photo of a girl named Savannah Frank with the caption, “Rap Devil was better.”

Eminem kicked off the feud last year when he dissed MGK on the Kamikaze cut “Not Alike” featuring Royce Da 5’9. Although Em hurled shots at plenty of other rappers, MGK was the most vocal with his response.

After releasing “Rap Devil,” Eminem told Sway Calloway he was hesitant to fire back, noting it would only give MGK more attention. But, like the seasoned battle rapper he is, Shady ultimately returned with “Killshot,” which seemed to bring the back-and-forth to a stop.

“Killshot” became YouTube’s biggest Hip Hop video debut in the platform’s history.

MGK is often asked about Em during interviews. While promoting his most recent album Hotel Diablo, he told Everyday Struggle he still wants to go bar-for-bar with the Detroit-bred rap god.
