Brooklyn, NY – A Brooklyn-based commander in the New York City Police Department is reportedly off the hook for threatening 50 Cent. According to the New York Daily News, an investigation into 72nd Precinct Deputy Inspector Emanuel Gonzalez telling cops to shoot 50 “on sight” has been closed.
“This allegation was unsubstantiated and closed,” an NYPD spokeswoman told the Daily News.

Gonzalez, who’s had trouble with G-Unit boss in the past, allegedly told officers to “shoot him on sight” during roll call at the 72nd Precinct stationhouse in June 2018. While the commander tried to play it off like a joke, the comment didn’t sit well with some of the cops at the meeting.
“The inspector just said at roll call if u see Kurtis Jackson (aka 50cent) shoot on site … I’m like wtf,” one officer wrote in a text obtained by the Daily News.
The NYPD’s Internal Affairs Bureau couldn’t prove it was a legitimate threat, so no charges were filed against Gonzalez. After the Daily News report was published, 50 reacted to the case being closed via Instagram.
“I knew they were not going to do anything about this,so I stop talking about it,” he wrote. “NYPD is hands down the toughest gang in New York. You just gotta be ready for what ever. You know the vibes.”
