HipHopDX Premiere – From the moment the 808 hits, it’s clear Diirty OGz’s Weazel Loc and Tha Chill are steadfast in their gangsta rap roots — and they show no signs of letting off the gas, even 30 years after Tha Chill’s other group, Compton’s Most Wanted, got off the ground.
For their latest trick, the longtime friends and collaborators have teamed up for the “It’s Workin” video, which comes from Loc’s new Gangsta Guaranteed album. Produced by Tha Chill, the track pays homage to their predecessors.

“This is a backyard boogie anthem,” Tha Chill tells HipHopDX. “We grew up lovin’ groups like Run-DMC, Whodini and EPMD — those legends that was great at going back and forth spittin’ on the mic.
“So, we wanted to give you that style of bustin’, but from a G’s perspective, in our language and where we comin’ from when it comes to rockin’ a party.”
Fellow CMW member MC Eiht makes a cameo appearance in the video, which is no surprise considering more is expected from Eiht and CMW in the very near future.
Loc’s Gangsta Guaranteed and Tha Chill’s 4Wit80 are both available now on all digital platforms.
