Detroit, MI – Vermont senator Bernie Sanders had a busy schedule before the Democratic presidential debate on Tuesday in Detroit that included meeting Carbi B for the first time to create a collaborative video.

Sanders told CNN that the video, filmed at black-owned Detroit nail salon TEN Nail Bar, is for his presidential campaign to increase voter registration among young Americans for the 2020 election.

“We are working on a way to involve more young people in the political process,” Sander said. “The future of America depends on young people. They are voting in large numbers, but not large enough numbers.”

Sanders and Cardi B discussed several matters that are part of his initiatives including canceling student debt, spreading climate change awareness and increasing minimum wage for workers.

He continued to be vocally supportive of the Bronx lyricist verbalizing her concerns about the U.S. government on social media, including legislative changes for social security in a GQ magazine interview in 2018.

Sanders doubled down on statement that “Cardi B is right” after their encounter.

“Today, Cardi B and I finally met,” Sanders tweeted. “We had a great conversation about the future of America. And let me tell you: Cardi B is right. Together, we’ll get millions of young people involved in the political process and transform this country. Stay tuned for our video coming soon!”

The video has yet to be released.

Sanders also praised her during his appearance on Jimmy Kimmel Live earlier this month.

“She is really smart. And she is deeply concerned about what’s happening in this country,” Sanders said . “She wants to make sure we improve life for working people in this country, and I’m delighted that she is a supporter.”

Cardi posted an Instagram post with a picture of herself with Sanders, saying that the majority of the questions she asked him were collected from her followers.
