Freddie Gibbs Balances Bars & His Baby During Power 106 Freestyle

Los Angeles, CA – Freddie Gibbs stopped by Power 106’s L.A. Leakers to drop a freestyle over Dom Kennedy’s “My Type Of Party” — and he had a little helper.

“My son was trippin so I had to rap wit him in in my lap,” Gibbs wrote in an Instagram post on Friday (July 26).

Gibbs spit ferociously over the DJ Dahi beat, while his son sat in his lap, unfazed. The Indiana rapper packed the two-minute freestyle with one-liners, like, “Not a fat n*gga, but I been getting Max Kream.”

Gibbs also shouted out Nipsey Hussle with bars, “Rest in peace, Nip / Real king to the streets shit / The Marathon won’t never stop, you put these n*ggas on their feet, Crip.”

Gibbs closed out the freestyle, joking, “Freddie Gibbs Jr. coming to the freestyle soon!” He later posted a photoshopped picture of his son wearing MF Doom‘s mask on Instagram with the caption, “Daddy Daycare.”

Gibbs dropped off his Madlib-collaborated album, Bandana — which HipHopDX gave a rare perfect score — last month.
