Soulja Boy Continues To Browbeat 2019 With "New Drip" Video

While folks are still debating on whether it was Soulja Boy or Tyga who had the biggest comeback of 2018, Big Draco is taking full advantage of the moment by releasing his song “New Drip” with an accompanying music video.

“New Drip” is one of 12 tracks off his latest mixtape Fuego, which was released on January 10. The only feature on the project is from up-and-coming rapper Lil Mosey.

The music video features Big Soulja riding around in a luxury whip with a lady by his side and blowing big smoke.

Even if Soulja Boy didn’t necessarily have the biggest comeback of 2018, which included the release of his SouljaConsole and SouljaWatch products, 2019 might just be comeback season for him.

On Thursday (January 17), the Stacks On Deck boss hit the Barclay Center stage for Yams Day and had the entire stadium doing his iconic “Crank That” dance, after snapping on the Everyday Struggle hosts earlier that day.

On Thursday night, Ariana Grande unleashed her highly-anticipated music video “7 rings” and social media immediately began to compare the song to Soulja’s 2010 hit “Pretty Boy Swag.”

DeAndre Cortez Way’s influential flex continues and he’s bringing the receipts to remind the world of his impact.

From Beyoncé incorporating his “Turn My Swag On” lyrics on “Hold Up” from her Grammy Award-winning album Lemonade to Drake adopting “What’s Hannenin’” on his 2009 Billboard hit song “Miss Me” to featuring Tyga in his “Donk” music video before T-Raww ever had a hit, Soulja Boy Tell Em is showing off his marketing genius and driving everyone to check for his old hits.

Evidently, the 10-year rap veteran thinks it’s time to remind the industry why they should never forget who he is or what he’s done for the culture.
