Mac Miller Drops Surprise "Inertia" Freestyle

Posted by

As Mac Miller prepares to unleash his SWIMMING album on Friday (August 3), the Pittsburgh-bred rapper is warming up his fans with a little freestyle action.

On Wednesday (August 1), Miller shared a video for “Inertia,” which finds him sitting at a keyboard and smoking a cigarette before exploding into the first verse.

With lines like, “Simple thoughts got me itchin’ like the chicken pox” and “You simple as a whistle/Never pick a side/Shit, you always in the middle/Never down to ride,” Miller returns to his rap roots.

While two previously released singles from SWIMMING“Self Care” and “What’s The Use?” — favor the more melodic singing rap style, “Inertia” is just straight bars. However, it won’t appear on the upcoming album.

Miller is preparing to hit the road with Thundercat and J.I.D for The Swimming Tour this fall. It kicks off on October 27 in San Francisco.
