As Cardi B continues riding her current wave, the mom-to-be’s debut album Invasion Of Privacy is staying strong on the Billboard 200 at #2 for the week ending April 19.
Elsewhere on the chart, Kendrick Lamar’s Pulitzer Prize-winning DAMN. album has returned to the Top 15 with a 55 percent jump in sales, while the Black Panther soundtrack — another TDE production — remains in the Top 10 even with a seven percent drop.
Cardi B Falls From #1
Cardi’s major label debut, Invasion Of Privacy, hit the chart last week at #1 but couldn’t hold on for an encore performance. (The title was handed to country music artist Jason Aldean and his Rearview Town project.) But with 128,996 total album equivalent units moved (25,621 in pure album sales and a streaming count of 142,279,162), she still landed at #2, marking another impressive week for the Bronx-bred rapper.

DAMN. Jumps 55 Percent
Likely due to K. Dot’s history-making Pulitzer Prize win for DAMN., the Compton MC’s fourth studio album saw a 55 percent bump in sales, which put him in the #13 spot. Boasting 28,534 total album equivalent units moved (with 10,631 in pure album sales and a streaming count of 25,080,412), DAMN. is up seven spots from last week’s #20 position for its 53rd week on the chart.

Black Panther Remains In Top 10
Speaking of Kendrick, Black Panther: The Album was curated by the TDE signee and Anthony “Top Dawg” Tiffith, and served as a welcome addition to the blockbuster film. This week, it holds on to its Top 10 position at #9 with 34,299 total album equivalent units sold (3,869 in pure album sales and a streaming count of 40,680,152).
Upon its initial release, the project made its Billboard 200 debut at #1, held on to the #1 spot for week two, fell to #2 in its third week and then reclaimed the #1 spot in its fourth week. It’s now in its 10th week on the chart.
