Hip Hop Album Sales: Cardi B's "Invasion Of Privacy" Makes Major Billboard 200 Debut

Posted by

Fresh off her appearance at Coachella, Cardi B has something else to celebrate. Her debut album, Invasion Of Privacy, has hit #1 on the Billboard 200 chart for the week ending April 12.

Trailing not too far behind is The Weeknd’s My Dear Melancholy at #3 — despite a 69 percent decline after last week’s #1 debut — and XXXTENTACION’s ? at #5.

Elsewhere on the chart, Flatbush Zombies’ Vacation From Hell, Lil Xan’s TOTAL XANARCHY and Famous Dex’s Dex Meets Dexter all make their entrances.

Well, She Is Cardi B

A pregnant Cardi B performed at the Coachella Valley Music & Arts Festival over the weekend and hit yet another career goal when Invasion Of Privacy claimed the Billboard 200 throne.

With 255,176 total album equivalent units moved (102,810 in pure album sales and a streaming count of 202,647,961), the Bronx rapper’s debut studio album is the cherry on top of her explosive year. Those streaming numbers also set a new record for the largest on-demand streaming week ever for a woman.

The album is the second biggest release of 2018 (behind Justin Timberlake’s Man On The Woods) and the biggest R&B/Hip Hop release since Eminem’s Revival moved 267,000 units in December.
