Logic Explains That He's Not Dissing Joyner Lucas On "Yuck"

Fans who believed Logic was dissing Joyner Lucas on the Bobby Tarantino II cut “Yuck” are wrong, according to the man himself. In a new interview with Hard Knock TV, Logic explained why he wouldn’t use a diss track to address any issues with another person.

“I’m a man,” he said. “If I really feel some type of way, I’m not gonna even gonna say your name on a song or the internet. I’m gonna fucking call you. Like if I’m really upset, I’m gonna call you. But it’s like if you’re just talking, like whatever. It’s all good. I don’t give a shit. To me, it’s just not important. It’s not worth it. I’m just happy and I’m not gonna live in that life.”

Many listeners assumed the lyrics were directed at Lucas, who has been publicly instigating a one-sided feud between the two. The creator of the viral single “I’m Not Racist” has thrown jabs at Logic on a few songs and accused the Billboard chart-topping rapper for stealing his ideas. Logic takes aim at his critics on “Yuck,” which led to speculation that it’s about Lucas.

“Talkin’ shit ’bout Logic, I never respond/ I’ll let success talk, ’cause a word of advice/ More achievements for yourself and less talk/ Cats beef with Logic, yeah, they prayin’ I respond/ If I ever did, I dead you in this game with no respawn/ Peace, love, and positivity that’s all I want with you/ But you push the issue ’cause I give you more press than your publicist could ever get you,” he raps.

But Logic said any assumptions about the lyrics being directed at one person are wrong.

“I’m just so fucking positive,” he continued. “But this was just a fun opportunity to every journalist, every fucking rapper, every this, every that, in my entire career that has said something about me, I’m just like I wish you the best. I don’t know if this is coming from envy or jealousy or internal hatred or whatever, but here’s this mirror … I want you to look at yourself and ask yourself why are you so angry that you’re approaching somebody that’s just about peace, love and positivity and actually wants you to succeed.”

Logic also claimed he’ll never drop a diss record. He said it’s not in his character to make one.

“It’s not a diss song,” he noted. “If it was a diss song, I’d say somebody’s name … This is probably the closest it is ever going to have. I would … I would just never do that. It’s not who I am. This is the closest I would ever diss the entire industry that talks shit about me. Every single person in one, that’s it. I would never focus on one person or one this or one that because I feel sorry for anyone who would try to beef with me. It’s like, what’s the point? It’s funny to me. It’s kinda like me and my homies, we just clown. We just like, I don’t even know any of these people and that’s so crazy to me.”
